The scientific name of L-Valine is L-2-Amino-3-methylbutyric acid. This amino acid is white crystals or crystalline powder; No smell, slightly sweet taste then bitter. Melting point is about 315 degrees. 5% aqueous solution of the PH value is 5.5-6.5. Heat, light and air stability. Soluble in water (8.85g/100ml, 25 degrees), almost insoluble in alcohol and ether. Specific rotation[a]D20: +26.5°∼+29.0°.
L-Valine is aliphatic amino acids ,one of twenty protein amino acids and one of eight essential for human body. It also belongs to one of the three branched-chain amino acids.
